Newsletter, Special Offer Sign Up and Contact Forms

We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. Customers who have hired or wish to hire a motorhome
We only collect personal information that we or our insurers consider necessary to be able to hire a motorhome to you. We do need to know quite a bit of information about you, basically everything but your shoe size (you can tell us that if you wish though!).
The types of information we will collect includes:
- your name, your date of birth and age;
- previous booking information;
- contact details (address, phone, fax or e-mail);
- your occupation
- any medical conditions that may impact your ability to operate the vehicle;
- drivers licence details and record;
- past motor insurance claim record: and
- your individual preferences.
We will collect personal information directly from you in most cases:
- by email and through our website;
- in person, over the telephone or by written correspondence;
- on hard copy forms (including booking forms, competition entry forms and surveys);
- through our security surveillance cameras; and
- through global positioning system vehicle tracking and diagnostics (telematics) and other electronic tools to monitor
- the location, usage and servicing of your vehicle, including your speed, time, fuel consumption, distances travelled and current and previous locations visited.
We may collect personal information from third parties including:
- your legal representatives;
- public sources (phone directories, membership lists, professional and trade associations, social media, government,

- Government sources (such as the DVLA)

- processing your hire with us, including quotation, booking and servicing of your hire

- helping us improve the quality of our products and services

- sending you communications which you have requested or that may be of interest to you. These may include information about marketing activities and promotions
We do not share your data with any third parties, with the exception of:
- when we have been asked to provide information for legal or regulatory purposes
- when we are progressing existing or future legal proceedings
- when requested by a person or organisation who demonstrate a genuine need for us to disclose the details of the driver of a vehicle.

We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We are legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil our statutory obligations. We will hold your personal information for a period expiring 7 years after the end of your hire. This does not affect your ability to remove your email address from our general mailing list which you can do at any point by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the newsletter or by emailing us info@southlakesmotorhomehire.com.

On web sites we do not control, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information that you provide while visiting those sites. Can I ask you to delete my information?
The answer to this depends on why we’re holding your information. For most people absolutely, yes, you can ask us to delete your information and we will be happy to do so. However, there are instances where we are required by law to retain some information, such as customer/driver details for those who have hired from us.
Some information you have provided is necessary for us to keep and use in order to carry out our services. If you are hiring a vehicle from us and request us to delete your information or decline us to hold your information in the first place then we may be unable to continue the transaction and unfortunately we’d have to cancel your holiday. Any monies paid would be forfeit.
You are always able to opt-out of certain communications such as our Newsletter.

Unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for removing personally identifiable information from the lists of any 3rd-party who has previously been provided your information in accordance with this Policy.
